 CASA D'ARTE, Abruzzo, Italy

Located in the Historic Center of a  Medieval Mountain Village

About Casa d'Arte - Italy

  • Casa d'Arte in Italy is a traditional Abruzzese mountain house now used as a gallery and residence for artists who are interested in experiencing authentic Italian village life for two weeks. A maximum of two artists can sleep and work at Casa d'Arte. Submitted artworks are exhibited across three levels, including the mountain-view room.

About Our Village

  • Perched at 2,952 feet above sea level, Civitaluparella is a medieval mountain town rich in history and tradition.  It is home to a unique museum featuring antiques and archaeological artifacts—the only one of its kind in the region—it offers visitors a rare glimpse into the past.
  • Here, the mountain villages welcome you with warmth, tradition, and breathtaking views. There are castles, archeological sites, lakes, rivers, and the Adriatic Sea with Trabocchi nearby. This is a region with organic wheat, olives, grapes, and truffles in abundance. The people here hold the motto of Abruzzo dear to their hearts: Forte e gentile (strong and kind).

amici american ART Initiative

Amici Americani Art Initiative by Casa d'arte gallery was born out of love for a Medieval village community in Abruzzo, Italy that hosts an annual Borgo di Gusto “Food” Festival with music and crafts.

THE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE: This is where American artists get a chance to experience Ancient Rome before embarking on a rail journey to the Adriatic Sea and Medieval Villages of Abruzzo in one week. This fun-filled week provides sufficient space for artists to get inspired and still find time to and space to breathe calmly as they glide from one region to another; from one community to another and from one person to the next. 2027 will be Amici Americani's 3rd year of celebration with a people, a place and a time that lives both in the past and the present.

THE EXHIBITION EXPERIENCE: Artists can submit their work annually, giving them global exposure and market value.
