This is an indigenous cultural retreat: A step above the ordinary.
About This Retreat
Challenge yourself to experience the Nubian people of Egypt, who hold onto a 12,000-year-old tradition. Nubia was home to one of the earliest civilizations of Africa, predating the pharaohs of ancient Egypt. The Nubians built impressive structures, developed advanced metallurgy, and maintained a strong trading network. Their complex relationship with ancient Egypt was characterized by periods of peaceful trade and cultural exchange as well as times of conflict and conquest. Notably, the Nubians ruled over Egypt as the 25th Dynasty (the "Kushite Dynasty") during the 8th century BCE. Nubian music and dance are integral parts of their cultural identity, characterized by the use of traditional instruments like the simsimiyya (a type of lyre) and rhythms that reflect their African heritage.
This 5-day retreat offers a comprehensive cultural immersion experience, enhancing your appreciation for how the Nubian people have contributed to modern-day Egypt and the world.
